Part IV – JOURNAL ENTRY NUMERO CUATRO!
So anyone who knows me deep down truly gets that I’m a solid Nintendo fan at heart — but like any fan (even the most dedicated ones out there), we all have our flaws ; I would have to say that I am no different. Get ready for it — here it comes —- I have a semi – big confession to make…..
I have never purchased a Nintendo Switch or played one for longer than an hour at a time!!!!! In fact, it gets worse : What I have played of it has been not much more than “demo games” that
cycle out and restart after a few minutes. For someone like me, who has (at one point or another) owned and played EVERY prior Nintendo console ever known to man (except for the foreign ones available in other countries on exclusive, limited bases….those do not count), this is a HUGE deal. I am somewhat ashamed to admit it, but ah, now it’s been said. And I can fully breathe out that nice sigh of relief…..the truth has been spoken, and the world now knows how imperfect of a gamer Efrain Silva really is (much less a solid Nintendo hardcore fan).
In this short blog post, let me tell you about SOME MORE SUPER MARIO KART 8 RELATED CRAZINESS in my life; another chapter in my local Super Target store…
I had a good friend named Josh who happened to work at the Target I’ve been talking about, which had become my fun spot after a crazy week. I would often go into that Target and see him there (if he wasn’t chowing down at the Chipotle or Panda Express nearby that store). Josh was a cool guy; he was into gaming about as much as I was at the time. Even as a Target security loss prevention associate, he still knew how to have fun and make customers feel welcome, which is what really counts. I remember he even played with me on some of the demo games there, trying to beat my record (when he was off the clock, of course).
I love the Mario Kart bananas, and am more thankful than ever that they haven’t removed them completely as a weapon in this game. They’re probably my favorite (and by some strange coincidence, they are Josh’s favorite as well — I guess great genius minds like ours just happen to think alike, what can I say?) So, in this short bloggie, I’ve spilled a few more beans, but wait ‘til part five………
